The students in "Elena Vacarescu" school were given the chance to participate in the English competition. The skills assessed were reading and writing. They eagerly solved all the tasks, trying to prove that they are skilful and passionate. The winners were awarded diplomas and were encouraged to keep studying English seriously. The Hidden Talents project has definitely revealed what each student has the best to offer and helped them gain self-confidence and enhance their skills.

The best students from Croatia got the possibility to talk with the German coordinator. She said: "Your German is brilliant. You have earned the first places."

ENGLISH COMPETITION IN

EKONOMSKA AND TURISTIČKA ŠKOLA DARUVAR 2014

There was a competition in English language held on 27th of March 2014. Two students, Lora and Ivona, which had the best results in writing the ingredients and recipe of Hot pot, had Skype interview about free time with Nelian, English teacher. They answered questions about how do they spend their free time, what do they do, how much free time do they have, how do they spend their holidays. They were very good and showed their language skills.

Ivona and Lora introduced themselves like this:
Ivona:
My name is Ivona Ulrih. I go to the second class. I attend the Economic and tourism school in Daruvar. In school I learn four languages: English, German, French and Czech. I'm in the project because I love to travel and meet new people. The test was very easy as well as the preparation for the test. I read the recipe twice. On Skype, we talked with Mrs Hoole about our family, free time and other interesting things. It was a wonderful experience for me.
Lora:

My name is Lora. I'm 15 years old. I love hanging out with my friends and listening to music. I love reading blogs and spending time listening to music. In my free time I play guitar and sing.I join this project because I like to travel and sing.

The Englisch test was interesting. I never wrote something like that before and it was a totaly new expirience for me.

GERMAN COMPETITION APRIL THE 8TH 2014

Language competition in German was held on April the 8th. Vanja and Matija had an opportunity to speak with Mrs Silvia Roye about their lives, free time activities, school... It was a great experience for them to explore their language competences.

Vanja and Matija introduced themselves like this:
Vanja:
Ich heiße Vanja Šnobl. Ich besuche die 1. Klasse der Ökonomischen und Touristichen Schule in Daruvar. In dieser Schule lerne ich viele Sprachen: Tschechisch, Kroatisch, Deutsch, Englisch und Französisch. Ich nehme an diesem Projekt teil, weil ich gerne singe, tanze, zeichne... Ich freue mich auf die Reise nach Rumänien.
Der Test war überhaupt nicht schwer. Es ist gut, dass wir ihn geschrieben haben, weil wir einige Sachen über Europa wiederholt haben. Für den Test musste ich mich nicht lange vorbereiten, weil ich schon die meisten Sachen weiß.
Mein Freund Matija und ich haben mit einer netten Frau aus Deutschland über unsere Schule und unsere Freizeit gesprochen. Es machte uns Spaß und ich freue mich sie kennen zu lernen.

Matija:
Ich heiße Matija. Ich besuche 1. Klasse in die Touristicshe und Ökonomische Schule in Daruvar. Ich lerne 4 Fremdsprachen- Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Tschechisch. Ich nehme an dem Projekt teil, weil sehr gerne mit den Menschen kommuniziere, neue Sprache lerne, neue Erfahrungen sammle usw.
Der Test aus Deutsch war einfach. Meine Freundin und ich haben uns zusammen dafür vorbereitet. Mit Frau Roye haben wir uns über unsere Freizeit, Hobbys, Schule unterhalten. Es war sehr interessant.








ENGLISH-GERMAN COMPETITION: HOT POT
Pupils from three classes competed in English - German competition. They learnt how to prepare the Lancashire Hot Pot. They matched the English and German equivalents in the right places. Each of them wanted to be the first. The most difficult word for them was a “bay leaf” but they now know what it is. Then they drew the pictures. Here are three winners of the competition.

The winners were given the awards by our German partner teachers during the teacher exchange. The best students were Boglárka Dusnoki Class8a and Anna Paska Class5b. Congratulations!
